ABOUT SPACE

  • Soulshine Performing Arts Collective Experience (SPACE) facilitates a sense of belonging and fulfillment through a collective experience in an inclusive environment fueled by self-actualization and provided for artists of every kind to safely explore, skillfully create, proudly express and boldly belong.

  • SPACE aims to provide refreshingly, accessible opportunities and experiences in every sense of the word via theatrical productions, community events, showcases, workshops, social gatherings, exhibits, open mics, classes, lessons and collaborative explorations of every creative process. SPACE will utilize pay-what-you-can options, Open SPACE Sundays, scholarships, internships, mentorships, community service, support groups and charitable causes to facilitate its mission and provide a consistent sense of belonging to anyone who needs it.

  • Lacey O (aka Larissa Overholt) is the creator, founder, owner and operator of SPACE (LLC). Lacey was born and raised in the City of Pittsburgh. She is a solo mom of three teenagers who works full-time as an Elementary Special Education Paraeducator in Hampton Township School District. She studied Theatre Arts at Point Park University where she received her BA. She also holds a YTT Yoga Certification. She has over 25 years of professional performance art experience and instruction, a pure passion for humankind and an innovative vision of sparking a stronger sense of belonging within her community by simply (but not solely) creating space to do so.

  • Shining its light beyond its Allison, Park location, SPACE promotes coexistence throughout the Pittsburgh arts community by uplifting others and embodying a safe space at all times. The studios at SPACE can be used by other artists and establishments to supplement creative growth. SPACE will blaze a new trail of acceptance, an artistic oasis, a creative safe haven and a beacon of hope fueled by the light of all who find it.
